Walking in the Neighbourhood
Even more than aquafitness and tai chi, my favorite exercise is walking outdoors. It takes me away from the same four walls, and gives me time to think, or listen to audiobooks, music and the CBC. Favorite places to walk are at Lake Ontario at Humber Bay Park, James Gardens and High Park. But they all require a car ride, and it’s just simpler to walk in the neighbourhood. Luckily there are some beautiful walks right here.
Walking has some mighty benefits and it definitely improves my mood, so I try to get out for an hour every day. The cold and wind-chill, not to mention the snowy sidewalks are discouraging today though. So here are some reminders of my neighbourhood walks in different, and more inviting seasons.
